&lt;p&gt;Having looked into this further it seems that there is indeed some work being done to integrate WordPress with Drupal.  I guess you learn something new every day :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I should have made it clear in my post that I read Adam Hirsch&#039;s comment as suggesting that Drupal was making efforts to integrate with WordPress (as if WordPress was the master), rather than someone attempting to integrate WordPress into Drupal (which is what seems to be the case).  Still, I apologise for the error.&lt;/p&gt;
