FeedBurner

A Couple of Bits

Very briefly…

1. FeedBurner
I have now moved both the main post feed and the comment feed over to FeedBurner. It was a pretty simple process, although a little help documentation in the folder would have been cool, even something as basic as:

  • Enable the FeedBurner module
  • Go to feedburner.com and create a FeedBurner feed for your main Drupal feed
    (e.g. http://mydrupalblog.lhmdesign.com/rss.xml)
  • Note down the new FeedBurner feed address
    (e.g. http://feeds.feedburner.com/MyDrupalBlog)
  • Make whatever modifications to the new feed you would like in FeedBurner (e.g adding FeedFlare)
  • Go to Administer > Site configuration > FeedBurner, and make any desired changes
  • Go to Administer > Site building > FeedBurner, and add your new feed

Anyway, it's a minor gripe. The feeds still seem to be coming through fine in my Google reader, and now have the little 'Email this, Add to del.icio.us, Digg This!' FeedFlare bits attached. Hopefully this post should appear in Planet Drupal as well. Please let me know if you're having any troubles (with the new feeds ;).

2. Kontera
I'm going to be testing out Kontera integration on the blog. Kontera is a contextual content link based advertising service. I don't want the advertising to become intrusive and/or detract from the content, so if you have any feedback (good or bad) please post it in the comments.

Thanks,
Laurence.

My Drupal Blog moving to FeedBurner

Just a quick heads-up to let any RSS subscribers out there know that I'm going to be switching the My Drupal Blog feeds over to FeedBurner in the next day or so. Hopefully there shouldn't be any complications, and the feeds will continue to come through in your reader as normal. Lets find out...;)
